It is a very good way of using up small scraps of yarn that are not big enough to use in most projects, but are too good to throw away. The result is very efficient, because the thickness of the layer of flowers adds insulation.
The instructions tell you exactly how to make a basic tea cosy shape in any yarn, and then make a few suggestions for flowers and leaves to cover it. The result will be different every time, because it depends on what colours, yarns, and flowers you choose, and the way you choose to sew them together. You can use all sorts of flower patterns you have in your collection or find on the internet. Don’t feel limited to knitting. Use crochet, felt, anything you like.
